Two men were booked on felony weapons and narcotics charges Monday night in southeast Fresno after officers were sent to investigate a report of a man with a gun, police reported.

The incident occurred about 6:30 p.m. near Madison and Maple avenues. Sgt. Leslie Bragg said officers found a 16-year-old who appeared to be intoxicated. Other officers spotted a car that matched the description of the vehicle that had dropped off the boy.

The officers made a traffic stop at Belmont Avenue and Fresno Street, and discovered a loaded Glock 22 .40 caliber handgun and 28 grams of a white powder in the car, police said.

The driver, identified as Ricardo Castro, 20, and a passenger, Jorge Aviles, 23, were booked into Fresno County Jail.
