Fresno police say a 15-year-old juvenile was targeted Monday night in a car-to-car shooting in southwest Fresno.

Lt. Joe Gomez said the boy was at the wheel of a black BMW and driving west on Jensen Avenue about 5:20 p.m. when the shooting began. As he prepared to turn left onto Ivy Avenue, a westbound Nissan Altima slowed and someone in the rear seat fired several gunshots at the BMW. The BMW struck a Lexus SUV that was eastbound on Jensen Avenue.

As the Nissan sped away, the BMW driver ran from the area. He returned later and told detectives he did not know why he was targeted. He was booked on charges of hit-and-run.

The driver of the Lexus was taken to Community Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

A nearby home in the 1500 block of East Jensen was hit by one of the bullets fired from the Nissan.
