38-year-old man shot in the chest in northwest Fresno
A 38-year-old man was shot in the chest around 7 p.m. Sunday near Herndon and Farris avenues in northwest Fresno.
Witnesses said they heard five to six gunshots and are thankful that no children in the area were harmed.
Sgt. Doug Goertzen said the incident does not appear to involve gangs or is related to recent shootings in northwest Fresno.
The wounded man was reported in stable condition at Community Regional Medical Center. No other information was immediately available.
The shooter is thought to be driving a two-door, blue Chevy Tahoe with large black rims.
