A Fresno man faces weapons and narcotics charges after a search of his home found several pounds of marijuana and a high-caliber pistol in central Fresno, police said Friday.

Sgt. Paul Cervantes said the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium (MAGEC) raided the home just south of McLane High School on Wednesday and found marijuana both processed and being grown illegally in the backyard.

Friday, Souphaxay Inthavong, 39, who lived in the home, was charged in Fresno County Superior Court, Cervantes said. Inthavong is a convicted felon from Arkansas and prohibited from possessing firearms.
