Earlimart woman jailed for having 30 pounds of meth, heroin, $30,000 cash
A woman is in jail after police found 33 pounds of methamphetamine, about five pounds of heroin, and nearly $30,000 at a home in Earlimart on Friday, Visalia police said.
Sgt. Curtis Brown said officers doing follow-up work on a Tulare County gang sweep called Operation Red Sol went to a home just east of Highway 99 in Earlimart, an unincorporated community south of Tulare. That’s where they found the items – a majority in the bedroom of Maria Contreras, 30, who was arrested at the scene. Officers also found a loaded gun in her bedroom. Two vehicles were also seized.
Contreras was booked into the Tulare County Jail for possession of methamphetamine for sales, possession of heroin for sales and possession of narcotics while armed with a firearm, Brown said.
