Teenager arrested with loaded gun in central Fresno

A teenaged gang member was arrested in central Fresno on Thursday for having a loaded gun, the Fresno Police Department said.

Officers contacted the occupants of a home regarding a report of a teenager with a gun, police said. Officers got consent to search the home and found a loaded .22-caliber revolver in a backpack. The home’s address was not disclosed by police.

A 17-year-old boy was interviewed and admitted to putting the gun in the backpack, police said. He was determined to be a North Side Fresno Bulldog gang member.

He was booked into the Fresno County Juvenile Hall for firearm-related charges.

The “Felon with a Gun” program offers a $500 reward for information that leads to firearm-related arrests, police said. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867.
