Driver shot at during chase through Visalia, police say; two arrested
Police on Tuesday arrested two men who they say shot at an occupied vehicle during a car chase through Visalia.
Visalia police Sgt. Randy Lentzner said officers responded to a 911 caller who was being chased by a white truck at 3:18 a.m. near Ben Maddox Way and St. Johns Parkway. Police caught up to the vehicles and pulled over the truck.
Officers arrested Christopher Ross, 25, and Cody Waldrum, 22, after they found a handgun in the vehicle, Lentzner said. Investigators determined the caller’s car was struck once by gunfire, but the driver was not hurt.
Ross and Waldrum were booked on multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and shooting at an occupied vehicle.
