Revolver found hidden in Fresno wall

Fresno police recovered a handgun hidden in a wall after searching the home of a 15-year-old East Side Bulldog Wednesday in southeast Fresno.

Sgt. Brian Valles, of the department’s gun crime unit, said detectives initially searched the boy’s home at Montecito Street and Recreation Avenue Tuesday and discovered .32 caliber ammunition, but found no corresponding firearm. The juvenile was arrested for possessing the ammunition. The next day, officers returned and gained the permission of the boy’s father to search again. The revolver was found in the wall in the boy’s room. He was booked on weapons charges.

The department’s felon with a gun program offers a $500 reward for information that leads to a firearm-related arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP.
