Fresno men suspected in stabbing near Cal Poly

Two men were stabbed early Friday morning after another man was denied entrance to a fraternity-hosted party, and police are looking for two suspects believed to be from Fresno.

The San Luis Obispo Police Department reported the case:

A Cal Poly student and a Cuesta College student were attending an event hosted by the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. Around midnight, another man tried to attend the party, but was denied because it was private. The man who was denied became angry and started a fight with one of the victims. The fight was quickly broken up and the suspect ran away.

About 30 minutes later, both students had left the party and were walking along Foothill Boulevard near the entrance to Mustang Village when they were approached by the man who had been denied entrance to the party and another man. The new pair started a fight and the second suspect took out a knife and stabbed both victims in the upper torso before running away toward campus.

Both victims had a single stab wound to the upper torso and were treated at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are still looking for the suspects. The first is described as a white man with olive complexion in his 20s, 5 feet 6 inches tall, average build with a dark beard. He was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. The other suspect is described as a white man with olive complexion in his 20s, 6 feet tall, 160 pounds, with dark hair wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.

The suspects are believed to be from Fresno, police said, based on statements made during the assault.
