3,000-plant marijuana operation busted in Orosi
A large-scale marijuana grow operation was shut down this week in Orosi.
Deputies responded to the operation sites Wednesday after neighbors complained about marijuana growing operations that possibly affected their water shortage.
Deputies said they issued 10 search warrants in Orosi over a two-day span and found 3,093 marijuana plants. Seventeen people were booked on charges of illegally cultivating marijuana and possession of marijuana for sale.
Deputies also found 15 guns,14 grams of methamphetamine, 3 ounces of hash, 8 ounces of kief, about 60 pounds of partially processed marijuana, and 4 pounds of fully processed marijuana.
The street value of the marijuana plants were estimated at more than $3 million, deputies said.
