Police raid Fresno marijuana operations

Fresno police Tuesday seized more than 200 marijuana plants from two homes in the 4900 block of East Olive Avenue, across from Ewing Elementary School.

Sgt. Mark Hudson estimated the street value of the plants to be about $120,000 and said officers were looking for Rob Souglin in connection with the operation of one of the marijuana growing operations. The plants were being grown in the backyards of both homes, and Hudson said operations were a risk to the nearby students.

Officers are ramping up their effort against marijuana operations as the harvest season begins. Growing marijuana is illegal in the city and county of Fresno, and those who do so face fines of $1,000 per plant.
