Alert neighbors help thwart burglary at Clovis home
Alert neighbors helped thwart a burglary in Clovis on Monday afternoon, police said.
Officer Dave Roseno said neighbors saw 28-year-old George Bruhin of Sanger entering the home just south of Sierra Bicentennial Park about 3:15 p.m. and knew that the homeowner was not home. They called police.
Officers tried to call Bruhin outside, but he hid in the attic, eventually getting stuck in a confined space near the chimney. He remained in the attic for nearly three hours before a Fresno County sheriff’s dog was brought in and Bruhin was located and caught without incident. Bruhin was taken to a hospital for treatment of possible dehydration.
Roseno said Bruhin was booked into Fresno County Jail on charges of burglary and probation violation.
