Visalia police chase down teen after alleged strong-arm robbery

Police chased down a 16-year-old boy who allegedly committed a strong-arm robbery Wednesday night in downtown Visalia.

Sgt. Randy Lentzner said officers responding about 9:45 p.m. to a report of a fight at Church Street and Center Avenue learned it was a robbery and that the boy had run away. He was found two blocks away at Center and Locust Street but ran; he got three blocks away to School Avenue where officers used a police dog to help subdue him.

The boy was treated for a dog bite to his leg and booked into juvenile hall. The adult male victim was not injured during the robbery, Lentzner said.
