A stolen handgun hidden in a box of Fruity Pebbles cereal was seized from a gang member Wednesday night near Fresno State, Fresno police reported.
Sgt. Doug Goertzen said officers were sent to a disturbance involving a man with a gun about 9:41 p.m. at Alamos and Recreation avenues. They detained a man matching the description of the suspect and searched his apartment, where police said a loaded Glock .40 caliber weapon was located in the cereal box.
The gun was stolen in a residential burglary in Fresno on Aug. 8.
Brandon Jones, 25, of Fresno, a Geneva Street gang member, was booked into Fresno County Jail on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of stolen property.
