Forty-nine Lenovo Chromebook laptop computers, an Apple I-Pad and about $1,000 in cash and checks were reported stolen from a small school in Kings County, the sheriff’s department said Tuesday.
Island School is a kindergarten through eighth grade charter school west of Highway 41 near Lemoore that has about 345 students.
According to the sheriff’s department, video surveillance tape shows two men arriving at the school in a newer model, silver, four-door sedan, possibly an Audi or Volkswagen. The men broke into the school by prying open doors and breaking classroom windows. The break-in was reported early Monday and occurred between Saturday evening and Monday morning.
One suspect is a white male adult, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6-feet tall, with a bald head and beard. The other is about 5-9, wearing a baseball cap and possibly having facial hair.
