Man held in central Fresno shooting

Fresno police recovered a firearm after witnesses reported seeing several people involved in a shooting in central Fresno Friday night.

The suspect shot at another man on Shields and Palm avenues and continued to fire as the other man drove away into heavy traffic, police said.

Officers found the two men after they fled into a nearby neighborhood on Van Ness and Shields avenues.

Witnesses identified Calvin Moon Sengsavat, 19, as the shooter. The gun found on Sengsavat had an illegal capacity magazine.

Sengsavat, 19, was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and several firearm charges. He also had an outstanding felony warrant for residential burglary.
