Man arrested for rape in SoCal is wanted for murder in Fresno County

The El Monte Police Department arrested a man for rape on Friday who is wanted for murder in Fresno County, said Tony Botti, the Fresno County Sheriff’s public information officer.

Kaleo Schreiner, 21, has an active arrest warrant for the murder of Megan Troen, 20, of Tracy, Botti said. On the morning of July 30, workers discovered Troen’s body in the California Aqueduct near Nees Avenue and Interstate 5 in the Firebaugh area.

Schreiner will remain in custody in Southern California for the time being, Botti said. This is an ongoing investigation, and no other details were immediately available.
