Officers responded to a ShotSpotter electronic activation around 4 a.m. in the area of Del Mar and Harvard Avenues. Police said as officers were arriving, they saw a vehicle leaving the neighborhood at a high rate of speed.

Officers followed the vehicle from a distance because it was traveling in excess of the posted speed limit until it arrived at the hospital.

Police learned that the occupants brought two shooting victims to the hospital.

One person was listed in stable condition, and the other underwent surgery. The status of that victim is unknown.

Detectives are investigating the shooting’s motive.
