42-year-old man killed at intersection near hospital in downtown Fresno, police say
A 42-year-old man who was found early Wednesday at a downtown Fresno intersection died from his injuries.
Police said the victim, identified in an update as Kyle Beachy of Fresno, was found in the road around 2 a.m. at Divisadero and Abby streets near Community Regional Medical Center.
He had been injured in the upper body, either a stab or gunshot wound, Lt. Marcus Gray III said.
Beachy was taken to the hospital, where police said he died.
A homicide investigation was launched and detectives were still investigating Wednesday morning. They believe an altercation involving multiple people may have occurred before Beachy was assaulted.
The killing was the department’s 12th murder investigation of the year, police said in an update.
