Fresno Police Lt. David Madrigal said officers responded at 3:53 p.m. to the 1500 block of North Brooks Avenue, at McKinley Avenue, at the Brooks Apartments.

Officers arrived and found the 35-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to the hospital and listed in stable condition.

Madrigal said detectives are following up on the shooting and canvassing for surveillance video to see what was captured before and after the incident.
