A 19-year-old has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on Fulton Street in downtown Fresno last month.

Homicide detectives identified Kamyah Bolden as the suspect in the killing of Meharie Kidane on March 20 and took him into custody April 9, police said in an update Monday.

Officers responded to the shooting around 11:16 p.m. at Sun Stereo Warehouse on Fulton Street and found the 38-year-old victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers rendered aid before Kidane was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died.

According to investigators, the shooting followed a fight during a gathering at the location.

Detectives said several individuals had been escorted out of the venue when the dispute escalated into gunfire.

Bolden was booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of murder.

A spokesperson for the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office told The Bee on Monday morning that the case is under review and charges were expected to be finalized later Monday.

Police said the investigation remains active despite the arrest.
