Clovis detectives have identified a person of interest in the homicide of Geoffrey Bernardi, which occurred in late December.

According to Clovis police, officers discovered Bernardi at 1 a.m. on Dec. 18 near the Dry Creek Canal, south of Barstow Avenue between Peach and Willow avenues.

Bernardi had been severely beaten and died two days later at Community Regional Medical Center. His organs were donated and saved seven lives.

Detectives and crime scene investigators remained at the scene throughout the night, examining what was Clovis’ third homicide of 2025.

Police said the person of interest is not being identified at this time.

In an update, police spokesperson Ty Wood stated the killing “was not a random act. Detectives continue to investigate this homicide, and they are also awaiting the results of evidence that has been processed.”

“I would like to see the people responsible for this horrendous act arrested,” Bernardi’s mother, Erin Adams said. “I want justice for Geoffrey.”

A celebration of life for Geoffrey Bernardi will be held at noon on January 30 at the Clovis Veterans Memorial District, located at 808 4th St. in Clovis.

A GoFundMe was established for Bernardi’s family.
