A pedestrian is in serious condition Monday after she was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run in thick fog.

The California Highway Patrol said the incident happened at 7:37 p.m. at Temperance Avenue, north of Central Avenue.

CHP spokesperson Mike Salas said the woman’s vehicle broke down and walked in the road north of Temperance when a vehicle going south struck her.

The woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers are looking for a 2014-2019 Toyota Corolla that traveled 1/4 miles north of Central after the collision.

The vehicle has front end damage, Salas said.
