Fresno police Lt. Michael Pierce said officers responded to a liquor store just before 9 p.m. at Peach and Belmont avenues and found the man with a gunshot wound to the chest.

He was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

Officers were canvassing for surveillance video, but Pierce said investigators will determine where the crime occurred.
