A man was stabbed multiple times on Thursday in Fresno.

Officers responded at 7:37 p.m. to the 1200 block E. Clinton Avenue to a “chaotic scene” outside a home involving family members, Fresno Police Lt. Michael Pierce said.

Officers entered the home and found a 34-year-old man with multiple stab wounds in the upper body.

Officers used life-saving measures on the victim before EMS arrived.

The man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, Pierce said.

Officers canvassed for witnesses and talked to four family members to see what led up to the violence. They are cooperating, Pierce said.

What led up to the stabbing is being investigated.

“All we know is they were having a family gathering, unsure if there was an argument or there was some unknown suspect that came to the gathering,” Pierce said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 559-621-7000.
