A teen was stabbed multiple times Sunday afternoon after a group of juveniles got into a fight at a Fresno park.

The incident happened around 2 p.m. at the neighborhood park, located at Shields and Brawley avenues, Fresno police Lt. Tim Tietjen said.

Police said there was an argument before it turned into a fight, and the victim was stabbed with a knife in the upper torso.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and is stable.

“We have one in custody for the stabbing,” Tietjen said.

Several witnesses saw the stabbing, Tietjen said.

Police detained the suspect at the Taco Bell parking lot.

The investigation is ongoing.
