Fresno Police Lt. Michael Pierce said the shooting happened just before 7 p.m. in the 2900 block of E. Gilbert, near Cesar Chavez Boulevard and First Street. As officers arrived, they found a 40-year-old who was shot in the back.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he is in stable condition.

Pierce said there was a disturbance outside before shots were fired, but witnesses didn’t give much info.
