Father and son injured in knife slashing in central Fresno
A father and son were attacked by a knife-wielding assailant early Saturday morning in central Fresno, the Fresno Police Department reported Saturday.
A white adult male, approximately 25 years old, wearing a hoodie and mask, approached the 15-year-old boy near a relative’s home at 1211 E. Olive Ave. around 1 a.m., slashing at the boy before fleeing the scene.
The victim’s father, 46, ran after the suspect, catching up to him down the street. When the suspect was confronted, he slashed at the victim, cutting his hand, and brandished a handgun. The suspect then fired a warning shot at the ground in front of the father before fleeing in a light blue vehicle.
Both victims’ injuries were not life-threatening, and they were treated at Community Regional Medical Center.
