Ex-wife of slain Exeter cop to face trial
Erika Sandoval will face trial on charges of first-degree murder of Exeter police officer Daniel Green, the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office said Wednesday.
At a preliminary hearing Tuesday, a judge ruled there was enough evidence to warrant a trial. Arraignment was set for Aug. 25.
Sandoval, 28, is charged with lying in wait when she shot and killed Green in February at his home in Goshen. Green, 31, was her former husband and father of their child, who was 2 years old when the homicide occurred.
No decision has been made on whether to seek the death penalty but the option remains open, the District Attorney’s Office said.
