Three arrested after man threatens father with gun at Fresno family gathering
The Fresno Police Department arrested three people on various charges Saturday morning after a mother called 911 on her son for threatening his father with a rifle.
Fresno police Sgt. Glen Schafer said the victim told police that his son, Antonio Griffin, 29, of Fresno, assaulted him and threatened to kill him. Officers eventually located Griffin at a downtown Fresno hotel, where he surrendered without incident.
Schafer said police found the .22-caliber rifle believed to have been used in the crime and a loaded pistol with its serial number scratched off. Griffin was charged with making criminal threats and weapons charges.
Investigators subsequently learned that Travis Griffin, 27, of Fresno, and Porcha Griffin were also involved in the crime, Schafer said. Travis was arrested for allegedly having a gun with altered serial numbers, and Porcha was booked on a probation violation.
The suspects are all related, but Schafer did not specify how.
