Two arrested in killing of 16-year-old in Tulare

The Tulare Police Department arrested two suspects who they say shot and killed a 16-year-old boy Friday night.

Sgt. Justin Rich said that officers responded to a 911 call in the 100 block of West Oakland Avenue in Tulare and found the shooting victim. He was taken by ambulance around 10 p.m. to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim’s identity was not given.

Jesus Navarro, 18, and a 17-year-old suspect were identified as the shooters and arrested, Rich said. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information on the case is asked to call the police department at (559) 685-2300.
