Tracy man sought in death of woman found in California Aqueduct
The Fresno County Sheriff’s office is searching for a Tracy man wanted in connection with the slaying of a woman found on July 30 in the California Aqueduct west of Firebaugh.
Spokesman Tony Botti identified the man as Kaleo Schreiner, 21. Witnesses say he left Tracy with Megan Troen, 20, on July 20 but never returned. Troen’s family filed a missing person’s report on July 21.
Workers found Troen dead in the aqueduct north of Nees Avenue and east of Interstate 5.
Botti said Troen and Schreiner have been acquaintances for several years. On Thursday, Botti said an arrest warrant was issued for Schreiner.
Schreiner was described as 6 feet and 300 pounds. He has several tattoos: A rifle above his right eyebrow, the letters “LV” on his right cheek, a microphone on his neck and several others on his forearms. He may be driving a 2001 black Lexus IS 300 with the license number 6SLZ045.
Troen had a diminished mental capacity and did not function as a typical 20-year-old, Botti said. The sheriff’s office declined to say exactly how she was killed — only that her death was ruled a homicide.
Schreiner may be armed, Botti said, so anyone who sees him is asked to call 911 and not approach him. Anyone with information on the case can contact the sheriff’s office at (559) 600-3111.
