Man arrested in Fresno County for causing damage with brick in domestic disturbance

A man was arrested after using a brick to smash car windows during a domestic disturbance on Friday, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded to a 911 call around noon in the area of Belmont and Leonard avenues after a woman said her ex-boyfriend was breaking windows at her home and throwing bricks through the windows of cars parked outside the home, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The couple’s 1-year-old child was in the home during the incident.

Christian Loya, 23, was arrested without incident and had not entered the home. The mother and the child were not injured.

The victim had recently filed a restraining order against Loya, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Loya was taken to an area hospital for a medical evaluation and will be booked into Fresno County Jail on a charge of felony vandalism.
