Two men were shot overnight Sunday in Fresno.

The shooting happened shortly after midnight at North State Street near West Shaw Avenue when witnesses called police to say there were two victims.

The victims - police said who are in their 20s and 30s - were taken to a local hospital and are expected to survive.

One victim was shot in his lower body and the other in the midsection, Lt. Henry Garcia III said.

The motive to the shooting is not clear, police said but believe a dark sedan may be involved.

“We’re still trying to determine exactly what happened prior to the shooting,” Garcia said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 559-621-7000.
