Shooting leaves six men wounded near downtown Fresno, police say. Many rounds were fired
Six people went to the hospital after they were shot near downtown Fresno Saturday night.
Fresno Police Lt. Leslie Williams said the shooting unfolded at 9:19 p.m. at Amador and L streets.
Officers arrived and found two shooting victims on Amador Street. They provided medical aid before the victims were taken to a local hospital.
Four additional victims arrived at the hospital with gunshot wounds, Williams said. All six victims were listed in stable condition.
Detectives arrived on scene and are “trying to piece together and also trying to talk to the victims at the hospital to find out why they were in the area,” Williams said.
Officers did receive a ShotSpotter electronic activation for 14 rounds.
Williams said it’s possible more shots were fired.
All the victims, who were shot in the lower body, were men, Williams said.
A witness told police there was a party nearby and it was unknown if that was related.
