Man seriously injured in hit-and-run outside Hanford
A man suffered major injuries early Wednesday morning when he was struck by a late 1980s or early ‘90s Nissan pickup while crossing 13th Avenue north of Flint Avenue just northwest of Hanford, the California Highway Patrol said.
The CHP said the driver of the pickup failed to stop after hitting the man, whose identity was not provided. The victim was propelled across the street and onto the shoulder of 13th Avenue. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. The driver fled northbound.
The pickup is believed to have sustained right-front end damage to the headlight and windshield, and the side mirror on the right side came off during the accident. Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call the Hanford CHP office at (559) 582-0231.
