A pedestrian was killed Wednesday night while on a Fresno street.

The collision took place at 8:10 p.m. at Olive and Villa avenues.

Officers arrived and located a pedestrian in the roadway and provided life-saving measures.

The pedestrian in his 20s or 30s was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Fresno police Lt. Zeb Price said a vehicle was traveling westbound on Olive at Villa when it struck the pedestrian who was carrying various items.

The driver pulled over and stopped before a second vehicle drove by and struck the victim. That vehicle fled the scene and will face felony charges, Price said.

Security video picked up the vehicle down the street and “it’s too early to tell what that second vehicle is,” Price said.

Alcohol doesn’t appear to be a factor in the collision, Price said.
