Update: Coroner ID’s 38-year-old Go-Kart driver from Kingsburg. Other driver on loose

A Go-Kart driver was killed Saturday morning in a hit-and-run in Fresno County.

He was identified as Kenneth Owen, 38, of Kingsburg.

The California Highway Patrol said the collision happened at 6:35 a.m. at Mountain View Avenue, west of Peach Avenue.

CHP said the Toyota Tacoma driver was westbound on Mountain View while Owen was also westbound on Mountain View.

CHP said the Go-Kart was not street legal and had no lights or reflectors and was low to the ground.

The Toyota approached the Go-Kart from behind and the vehicle struck the Go-Kart.

Owen was pronounced dead at the scene. The Toyota driver stopped but fled the scene, CHP said.

It’s unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor, CHP said.

CHP described the possible vehicle as a white 2012-2015 with front end damage.

Anyone with information is asked to call CHP at 559-262-0400 or Valley Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867.
