Pedestrian killed after getting hit by 2 vehicles. Police suspect one DUI, one hit-run

A 30-year-old unhoused man was struck and killed by two vehicles in Fresno early Friday, police said.

Officers responded to the collision at Belmont Avenue and Mariposa Street at midnight, Fresno police Lt. Zeb Pricw said.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been struck by an RV and another vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers learned the RV was traveling west on Belmont when the vehicle collided into the pedestrian, who had stepped out into the road before he was struck, Price said.

A sedan then struck the pedestrian as well and fled the scene.

Officees are investigating a possible DUI on the RV driver and a possible hit-and-run on the driver of the sedan, Price said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 559-621-7000.
