Man shot and killed at Fresno County home. Deputies say several people left home
Homicide detectives on Thursday were investigating a deadly overnight shooting in Fresno County.
Deputies with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shooting Wednesday just before midnight at a home near West Mount Whitney and Garfield avenues in Riverdale.
They found a man who had been wounded by gunfire. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives learned there was a group of people at the home who were familiar with each other. A fight took place before the deadly shots were fired.
Detectives are investigating who fired the shots.
Deputies said several people left the home before deputies arrived; detectives are asking for those at the home to come forward and share their stories.
In an update Wednesday, the victim was identified as 35-year-old Isaias Lopez of Coalinga.
“Detectives have determined there was a group of people at the home, all of whom knew each other,” the Sheriff’s Office said in the update. “A disturbance took place and shots were fired with one man being struck. Detectives are working to figure out who fired the shots. No arrests have been made.”

The Sheriff’s Office has investigated 10 homicides this year. Eight have occurred within the department’s jurisdiction and two were taken over from other smaller city police departments.
