Shooting late Sunday in Fresno leaves man in critical condition
A 40-year-old man is in critical but stable conditional after being shot in central Fresno late Sunday, the Fresno Police Department said.
Police responded to a call of shots fired just after 11 p.m. near Manor Avenue and Pontiac Way (near Ashlan and West avenues). Ten minutes later, police saw a car speeding south on Blackstone Avenue near Escalon Avenue in northeast Fresno, police said.
Officers found the shooting victim, a 40-year-old man, in the passenger seat being driven by a woman. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center.
Police are investigating the shooting location. No other information was immediately available.
