Woman injured in a shooting in Tower District. A car was vandalized, Fresno police say

A woman was taken to a hospital Sunday night after a shooting in the Tower District.

Officers with the Fresno Police Department responded at 7:38 p.m. to Olive and Echo avenues of a victim of a gunshot wound.

Officers arrived and located the woman, who was rushed to the hospital. Her condition is unknown, Lt. Marcus Gray said.

The motive to the shooting is not known, but officers are talking to witnesses to gather suspect information.

Gray said the vehicle was not shot at, but it was vandalized.

The investigation is ongoing.
