Police tape at crime scene

The Fresno County Sheriff’s SWAT team took a man into custody Wednesday afternoon after he fired multiple gunshots inside a home on Willow Bluff, just east of Friant Road, spokesman Tony Botti said.

Deputies went t the home about 1:30 p.m., and then called for the SWAT team. A woman ran from the house at one point, and more shots were fired before the man surrendered peacefully shortly before 3 p.m.

Botti said the events were an “isolated incident,” and no one else in the neighborhood was in danger.

The suspect was being mentally evaluated, he added.
