Shoe dispute leads to stabbing of teenager in Tower District, Fresno police say
A teenager was taken to a hospital Sunday evening after he was stabbed in the Tower District in Fresno.
Officers responded to the stabbing at 6 p.m. at North Maroa and East Fern avenues, Fresno police Lt. Zeb Price said.
Officers arrived and located a 15-year-old boy with multiple stab wounds to his right shoulder. The weapon, a hair pin, was still in his shoulder when officers arrived, Price said.
He was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers determined that there was a disturbance between multiple teenagers over a pair of shoes. During the disturbance, the victim was attacked and stabbed, Price said.
He said officers detained a female suspect.
Price said detectives are gathering information to “find out exactly what happened.”
At least nine teenagers were involved and and know each other.
“I believe it was not her original shoes, however, she was claiming that they were hers now. And that’s where we’re still investigating, trying to determine who shoes they were and why this occurred,” Price said.
