A girl wounded by gunfire early Sunday near southeast Fresno wouldn’t talk about what happened, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The incident took place in the 1400 block of South De Wolf Avenue just before 1 a.m.

Lt. Edward Essegian said arriving deputies determined the teenager had been grazed by a bullet. She was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where she was uncooperative when asked how the shooting happened. or who fired the weapon.

The victim would also not tell deputies the names of her parents, so she was turned over to Fresno County Child Protective Services.
