‘Horrifying incident’ in Sanger as police arrest man trying to meet 13-year-old in park

A 47-year-old Clovis man was arrested in Sanger while attempting to meet a 13-year-old after engaging in sexual conversation, police said on Monday.

Detectives intercepted the conversation before the man was able to meet with the teen in a park and arrested him on Friday in what they called “a horrifying incident,” police said on social media.

The man, who police called a “child predator,” was aware of the victim’s age, according to investigators.

“This harrowing event serves as a stark reminder of the dangers lurking on the internet, especially when it comes to interacting with strangers,” the social media post said.

Police urged parents and guardians to talk to their children and educate them on potential threats online.
