Two older women found dead in a Kerman home on Thursday were being investigated as a homicide, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.

Kerman police were sent to the condominium on Kearney Boulevard and Del Norte Avenue about 6:30 a.m. for a welfare check, according to sheriff’s spokesperson Tony Botti around 1:30 p.m.

No one answered the door and police entered the home to find the two roommates dead, the sheriff’s office said.

Their injuries were consistent with a homicide, and sheriff’s office detectives were asked to take over, he said.

The names of the women were withheld pending the notification of next of kin.

Botti said the women were not killed in a random act but were also not specifically targeted.

Anyone with information to help with this case is asked by the sheriff’s office to call Detective Oscar Iniguez at 559-600-8201.

Anyone can also call Valley Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867 or got o www.valleycrimestoppers.org. Tipsters may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
