Detectives investigate shooting in Pinedale. Man in critical condition, Fresno police say

A man was in critical condition Thursday after being shot in the Pinedale area of Fresno, police said.

Officers rushed to the northwest Fresno neighborhood on Minarets near College avenues about 1 a.m. after the ShotSpotter notification system detected eight rounds of gunfire, police said.

Officers found a 32-year-old man who had been shot, but he declined to provide information to police about the gun violence, police said.

He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, and was in critical but stable condition as of Thursday morning, police said.

While searching the area, officers noticed a home on College Avenue had been struck by multiple rounds, but no one inside was hurt, police said.

Detectives were reviewing surveillance videos and searching for witnesses, police said. No motive was immediately available.
