California Justice Department will investigate fatal officer-involved shooting in Tulare

The office of California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced Monday that it would investigate the fatal shooting of a man Sunday afternoon by a Tulare police officer.

The shooting took place about 3:45 p.m. and resulted in the death of the man after a foot pursuit.

Bonta’s Police Shooting Investigation Team launched the investigation as part of state law after the passage of AB 1506. The results of the investigation will be turned over to the department’s Special Prosecutions Unit for review.
