Sheriff’s deputies searching for clues in Orange Cove murder

Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a murder that occurred Wednesday night in Orange Cove.

Spokesman Tony Botti said that Adolfo Vasquez, 61, of Orange Cove, was shot and killed around 9:15 p.m. near a home in the 900 block of Eightth Street. The Orange Cove Police Department passed the investigation to the sheriff’s office.

Homicide detectives interviewed witnesses who gave differing accounts about how many suspects were involved in the crime. Investigators don’t know if the shooter or shooters were driving or on foot, and they received only limited physical descriptions.
